As the front man for Clash from 1977 onwards, Joe Strummer changed people’s lives forever. Four years after his death, his influence reaches out around the world, more strongly now than ever before. In this documentary by British film director Julien Temple, Joe Strummer is revealed not just as a legend or a musician, but as a true communicator of our times.

Girls Rock | March 18 |
|
The Girls Rock Institute opened its doors to seven students in 2003 in Portland, Oregon in a converted sewing machine factory. Begun in 2001 at Portland State University as a Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls, the program was founded on the principle of creating an atmosphere where girls 8-18 could “learn music in a positive environment and develop into strong women who play awesome music.”
The film follows students through a summer’s camp experience learning, experimenting, opening their minds and lives to the creativity of Rock n’ Roll.

What begins with a simple question ("What was your first guitar?") put to 40 of today's most influential guitarists, including Slash, Les Paul and Peter Frampton, grows into an intimate documentary about the journey to find a musical voice.
Local piano legend, Andy Armer, will accompany some local guitar artists prior to the show. Join us for an entertaining evening of live music with these great Central Oregon artists.
