find out moreNow that the year of 2006 is behind us, the major concern of the Foundation Board is to get out the news of our Year-end Report and Fiscal Year Audit results. That doesn't sound as exciting as discussing what was under the tree, but as far as the Tower is concerned, it is extremely important for our members and friends to receive the good news and the challenges in a timely manner.

The whole report is available on the website at www.towertheatre.org and I urge each of you to please read it through. The information is the first of its type for the Tower and we are very proud of the progress we have enjoyed and continue to plan for.

Here's wishing each and every one of you a wonderful and exciting New Year! Clink!

New Performances Added
But WAIT!…there's more! Several additional performers have been booked and, in some cases, the dates have already been set. This part of the LATT series is called, Special Performances, and looks to add another level of entertainment to the already stellar program. Watch the website and your special emails from the Tower for ticket information on Craicmore, Defending the Caveman, Stolen Sweets and the Jefferson Dancers. These shows have already been negotiated and will appear on our website as soon as dates are confirmed.

Four separate student and family-oriented performances by as many groups will take place on stage beginning at 2p.m. Saturday afternoon. Names on the program include Karen Therese, native American singer and songwriter; The Erins, Bluegrass musicians; B.E.A.T. student performers presenting scenes from the "Miracle Worker" and "The Boys Next Door" and BodyVox, dancers extraordinaire! This presentation is the precursor of many more family-oriented and student teaching efforts by the Tower Foundation. Tickets are $5.00 each. FILM SERIES CHANGES

Tower Requests Your Suggestions
Starting in January of 2007 "The Series: Celebrating Excellence in Film" will begin its new set classic and independent films. Titles will be listed and distributed in a matter of days concerning the first set of five films. Each series will consist of two five-film sets. Among the changes we are exploring include: having matinees for certain titles and having only one evening screening at 7p.m. The cost for all films will remain at $6.00. Another thing we are asking members to do is to let us know what film titles you might be interested in seeing on the big screen. We cannot guarantee that these films can be obtained since they largely depend on costs and availability, but please forward your suggestions to don@towertheatre.org. See you at the movies!

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Gladys Higganbotham rings in 2007 as our first Volunteer of the Month for January. Gladys has been volunteering since the Tower reopened after its renovation. According to Yoleen Faerber, volunteer coordinator, "Gladys is always willing to help out and her cheer is infectious. Beyond the Tower, Gladys is busy giving of her time and energy to many programs. To name just a few organizations that benefit from her skills: RSVP/Read Together Program at Lava Ridge Elementary, The Family Kitchen at Trinity Episcopal Church, the Teddy Bear Run for Central Oregon Emergency Rooms as well as the Kids Center in Bend. Thanks for all you do at the Tower and in our community Gladys!
