Now that the end of the year is in sight it's wonderful to know that The Tower is awash in Holiday wonders. This year the Tower Theatre Foundation created a new tradition called "Holidays at the Tower." The Foundation worked diligently to bring to The Tower stage two special presentations: Glenn Yarbrough's "Forgotten Carols" and "Sister's Christmas Catechism." These special engagements are to show our appreciation to the community for their support and encouragement. It's not too late to grab tickets to Sister's Christmas Catechism!
Also, please plan on seeing some of the other excellent holiday performances at The Tower. What a great time to enjoy a family treat and an afternoon or evening together relaxing during the bustling, jostling time we all recognize as "The Holidays."
On behalf of the Tower Theatre Foundation, our members, sponsors, staff members and our volunteers, please enjoy a most wonderful Holiday Season and may the coming year be filled with wonderful adventures and exciting experiences! Thank you again for your support.
See you at the Tower, Eli Ashley

HOLIDAYS AT THE TOWER
"Now for something completely different - at least in these rancorous times: a comedy inspired by the Catholic Church that isn't edgy or angry or blasphemous," exclaims Frank Wilson, Inquirer Book Critic. On Monday, December 11th, audiences will be delighted by the antics of Sister's Christmas Catechism – The Mystery of The Magi's Gold. Using a small choir, a live crèche and the assistance of audience members, Sister will delve into the mystery using the wit and humor made famous through Late Nite Catechism and Late Nite Catechism II. Audiences are sure to leave with a smile on their faces and a whole new outlook on the Christmas story.
Tickets are $35 or $25 for reserved seats. To learn more and purchase your tickets, go here: CHRISTMAS CATECHISM
Besides the hilarious Sister's Christmas Catechism and Los Lobos, there are many other shows to enjoy. The Central Oregon Community College Cascade Chorale will be making several appearances for their Second Annual Holiday Magic Musical. Or, come enjoy the Obsidian Chamber Orchestra's Corelli by Candlelight. Rounding out the programs for December will be two performances for Saxon's Fine Jewelers on a Clear Winter's Night Jazz Christmas– an evening of marvelous and mellow jazz treatments of holiday tunes and compositions – a truly festive treat.
In January, set a resolution to attend David Wilcox, singer, songwriter and guitarist most excellent. After that, continue with your self-discipline of enjoying life to the utmost by attending one of the several performances of the Obsidian Opera Company's presentation of Fiddler on the Roof. Who needs to go to the gym to work off holiday calories when you will be dancing in the aisles with Tevye and the people of Anatevka? It's a tradition!

| THE GINGERBREAD TOWER |
|
The Sunriver Resort is hosting Gingerbread Junction from November 24th through December 30th. Over 100 extraordinary gingerbread houses created by crafty students and folks from Central Oregon are on display in the Lodge at the Sunriver Resort. Please take some time to drop by and see the wonderful lights, delightful displays….and while you're strolling around amongst the gingerbread structures, you might want to notice that The Tower is represented not once, but twice! The Mountain View Culinary Class and "The Austin and Wilson Families" constructed our beloved Tower in scrumptious gingerbread, gumdrops, Neccos (remember those?) and assorted sugar-laden goodies. Take the kids, it's great fun. Log on to sunriver-resort.com or call 1-800-387-3063 for information. (The photo shown is of the artwork created by the Austin and Wilson Families).
HOLIDAY STOCKING STUFFERS Here's a great idea for those last-minute stocking stuffers that can mean the difference between the warm socks from somebody's aunt in Paduca and REALLY enjoying the Holidays – Gift Tickets to Shows at the Tower!!! Just call in and order tickets (or purchase them on line at www.towertheatre.org) and watch people's eyes light up to find they have a date with entertainment most special and that it comes from an even more special person….you!
Another great idea for a holiday gift this year is Day in the Life of Central Oregon. This 300 page hardbound book is designed with the same quality and sophisticated asethetic that you have come to expect from BEND LIVING. Working with 27 photographers over a 24 hour period, this project captures the soul of central Oregon: its landscape, its people and its vibrant spirit. $44.95 each. A benefit for Bethlehem Inn. Buy them through the Tower Theatre: Buy Book.
VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH For the Merry Month of December, 2006 our Volunteer of the Month is….ta da! Ms. Linda Connelly! Linda and her husband of 37 years, Dick, had lived in Bend from 1971 to 1977 and wandered off only to return in 1992. She volunteered right after the Tower reopened and has loved "helping out" ever since. Linda enjoys traveling, skiing, kayaking, hiking and reading. You can catch her at the Ski Shop at Mt. Bachelor during the winter months. Yoleen Faerber, the Tower's volunteer coordinator says that Linda has been a consistent participant in activities and events at the Tower and has always maintained that professional and pleasant demeanor with all of our patrons. Congratulations, Linda, and thank you for your great contribution!

TOWER ADDS A NEW STAFF MEMBER Welcome Shannon Torrence When you buy tickets over the phone or in person, you're most likely talking with our new team member, Shannon.
Shannon is originally from Omaha, Neb. and received her bachelor's degree in Design and Marketing from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colo. Shannon and her husband moved to Bend four years ago and she was in merchandising prior to joining the Tower. Shannon and her husband have a two year old daughter, Eva Rae. Shannon smiles when she says "I just love the city of Bend and can't get enough of the snow!" Well, it's been a dry year in town so far, but as you know - winter just got started, Shannon! Welcome to the team!
THANK YOU MEMBERS The Tower Theatre Foundation thanks you for your membership. We appreciate and treasure your support of this wonderful theatre in downtown Bend.
